With road transport emissions exceeding 6 Gt CO2 globally, transport serves as both a primary decarbonisation priority and a critical economic engine. Under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), modernising freight corridors offers a dual opportunity: lowering emissions and reducing costly logistics bottlenecks.

This session convenes policymakers, researchers and industry leaders to examine how the AfCFTA Protocols on Trade in Services and Digital Trade can unlock green investment, spur regional value chains and deliver high-skilled local jobs.
